Maasai

The painting presents stylized Maasai figures through simple, stick-like forms and bold, expressive lines. Bright reds reference traditional Maasai clothing and jewellery, which hold an important place in their culture. I used a fiery orange background, reminiscent of a sunset, to add warmth and energy to the scene. I painted with a palette knife to build up texture, giving the surface a bold, expressive quality. Its minimal detail gives the work a playful, contemporary quality, allowing the viewer to focus on gesture and the distinctive silhouettes of the figures.
